BizarroCon 2026. The New Bizarro Con, a Place For Literary Misfits. First time in the Spring!

Expect: workshops, readings/performances, awards, great times! Not to mention an amazing collection of some of the weirdest and wildest multi-disciplinary writers, publishers, artists, and creators you could possibly imagine, all under one roof! More TBD!

For your ticket price, not only do you get access to all the events, but at least one meal will be catered on the evening of the Awards, in addition to morning coffee/tea and baked goods for the workshops.

May 14th-17th 2026. Thursday evening, registration will begin, as well as any welcome events, with the bulk of the convention taking place over Friday and Saturday. Sunday will feature some special events before our closing ceremony.

The Venue: Bizarro Con 2026 will be taking place at the Jupiter Hotel in Portland, OR. We have negotiated a 15%off discount with the hotel, the code for which is below. Be aware, blocks are not being held.

There are two buildings – one being “vintage” and the other being more “modern” right across SE 9th Ave from one another. Both buildings will be used during the con, so you can’t go wrong! The Jupiter is centrally located, a short streetcar ride from Powell’s, down the street from Portland’s favorite pizza place, Sizzle Pie, and a host of fun shops and restaurants to explore nearby. The hotel has a bar downstairs in the Jupiter Next (the newer building) called Hey Love, and because it is Portland, they have food as well. By the time the event happens, we’re told the bar and restaurant at the Original will also be open. So that will be a fun surprise!

The Awards: Saturday night will be the annual Wonderland Awards banquet, where the best of bizarro 2025 awards for best novel and collection will be awarded.

The Showdown: The Ultimate Bizarro Showdown will return once again to allow for the craziest, most fun, most bizarro performance-readings imaginable. More details will be forthcoming, but you may choose to mention your interest in participating in the comments when you register.
